We Believe…
- The Bible is God's unique revelation to people. It is the inspired Word of God, and it is absolutely trustworthy. The Bible is the supreme and final authority on all matters upon which it teaches. No other writings have divine authority.
- There is only one God, creator of heaven and earth, who exists eternally as three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each fully God, yet each personally distinct from the other.
- All people are created in God's image and matter deeply to Him. But through Adam's sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; every person is totally sin-filled and of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. Central to the message of the Bible is that God loves people, and invites them to live in relationship with Himself and in authentic community (doing life together) with each other.
- The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and restore sinful people. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ bought us back from slavery to sin through His death on the cross as a sacrifice in our place, and that our right-ness with God is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He represents us and intercedes on our behalf. We believe Jesus is coming again to judge the living and the dead and that salvation is God’s free gift to us only by trusting in Him.
- The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son, as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also lives in every follower of Christ from the moment of salvation; at which time He gives them spiritual gifts. He provides them with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. Growing Christ followers seek to live under His control daily.
- A church is a group of Christ Followers who have entered into covenant with God and each other. They come together for worship, prayer, teaching, encouragement, and mutual accountability. They also invest their time, energy, and resources as they do life together and reach out to unconnected people and grow them into fully connected and devoted followers of Christ.
- Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. Heaven is a place of eternal perfection for all who have received Jesus as their Savior. Hell is a place of eternal punishment for all who have rejected Him.
